Ahoy there, Club X... Duke here, with some important announcements.

First off, let me say THANK YOU to all of the attendees at the "Club X Roller Skating for Rights" social to benefit the NCSF last month. We had about 80 people in attendance, and we had a GREAT time while raising $464.38 to send to the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom. We got a lot of positive feedback about the event, and we're looking for dates to do it again before the end of the year.

This month: Queerie Bradshaw, PRIDE/Leather Realm, and a goodbye.

SO BAWDY!

This month's Xhibition on July 10 features a very special presenter, Lauren Marie Fleming. Formerly known for her sex-positive blog "QueerieBradshaw", she's now a published author and fierce taco aficionado. Meet us all at Joyce Beers next Monday evening for a great discussion about body-positivity and how you can use some role playing to change perceptions about yourself.

PRIDE AND LEATHER REALM

Join us on July 15th and 16th in the Leather Realm in San Diego Pride Festival. If you've never been, think of it as a mini kink conference in the middle of Balboa Park. For $20 2-day entry, you get to hang out with all of your kinky friends, check out vendors, meet some new organizations, and have workshops and performance scenes every hour. There's even going to be a puppy mosh on Saturday afternoon! There are lots of great music acts performing at this year's festival as well... stop by and check it out!

I want to mention how awesome I think it is that San Diego has its PRIDE festival in July while the rest of the country celebrates in June. Someday I'm going to ask for the real reason why we're different, but let's face it... not competing with the rest of the US for dates is pretty sweet, and the sunshine we get here in July is WAY better than June. For those of you who remember the torrential rains from 2 years ago, let's just pretend that never happened. Moving on...

A SAD GOODBYE, KINDA

Our Technology Guru and resident webslave has just been given an offer he can't refuse. While KnotMatt will still be working on our technology development and working closely with the Board to implement new features to the site, he will be moving North to the kink-vaccuum of Orange County. His re-relocation means he won't be able to attend many events with us, and as such, he is begrudgingly resigning from his BoD position to open that seat for another local person who has the time and energy to dedicate to the Club.

KnotMatt is a really busy guy these days, but if you get lucky enough to see him at an event, be sure to thank him for all the hard work he put into this Club.

YOUR CHANCE TO DO THE THING

Matt's departure means we're looking for a new face on the BoD. Specifically, we're seeking outgoing folks who can deal with customer-service type issues among the membership, as well as the ability to shoulder some of the load with parties, event planning, and workshop administration (working the door, etc.) Are you interested? If so, submit your letter of intent to info@clubxsd.org. Include some basic info about yourself, as well as skills you posses that might be useful to the organization. Please submit your letter prior to midnight on the 14th. The BoD will review candidates at PRIDE, and ultimately choose an appointee.

As always, if you've got comments, questions, or feedback, the BoD would love to hear from you! We're all available via email to info@clubxsd.org, or by messaging the Club X Fetlife account. Thank you again for all you do to support us as well as other San Diego LGBT and Kink-Friendly businesses and organizations. We have the BEST members, I swear.

Stay Kinky, San Diego!
