About this event

About this event
You’re invited! Enrich your understanding of kink, BDSM, relationships and sex by joining us for 2 hours of warm, lively, and thoughtful discussion.

Please RSVP with the Fetlife Event Link. I appreciate your RSVP. While an RSVP is not required, it DOES help us with the seating arrangement.

Held on the third Tuesday of every month, the Kink Discussion Group is a free, informal discussion group for anyone over the age of 18. We meet monthly to discuss issues of mutual interest concerning bondage, discipline, domination, submission, sadism, masochism and other kink related topics.

Although this is a Club-X event, you need not be a member to attend. The event is free but, please join me in supporting the venue.

This is a Club-X event brought forth with a deep sense of community. Join us with your questions, hopes, thoughts, experiences and stories. Please bring your open mind, good cheer and camaraderie. Everyone is welcome.

Here’s what to expect.
The room is open at 6:30pm so we can find seats and get food and drink ordered. The meeting is free and you need not order food or drink. No coupons please! Our group also makes sure that the server is both ok with, and old enough, for our adult discussions.

I sit where I can see & hear everyone and have enough light to read my notes. There is no assigned seating so feel free to sit anywhere. If you’re shy, you can sit by me.

I start every meeting with a self-introduction and take a moment to remind the group of our intentions. I remind everyone about our Agreements. I also point out that the server is cleared and that if you appreciate the service, to please tip generously; groups are hard on the servers.

Then we have a quick ice-breaker and dive into the discussions. Everything we do at the Coed BDSM Discussion Group is voluntary. That includes the ice-breaker and all the discussions. I encourage people to express themselves freely (we meet in a private room) but nobody is required to speak. People that want only to listen are equally welcome!

We do have some agreements to keep the discussion running smoothly:
I ask that only one person speak at a time. This helps people hear what’s being said and shows respect for the speaker, the contribution and the speaker’s ideas. This includes refraining from side-talk as well please.

Please speak up. There are some attendees that have trouble hearing. Projecting your voice is appreciated by all.

I reserve the right to steer you back on topic if you take off on a tangent. It’s not because I’m not interested in what you have to say, it’s because we only have a limited time for our discussions.
People raise their hands to be called on. Unfortunately I may miss someone’s hand. Please help me by pointing out someone I’ve missed. I don’t want to miss anyone’s contribution.

Please keep in mind that this is a discussion group in a public venue. This is an arena for exploring IDEAS only. Please reserve play and demonstrations for another time and place.

Please respect other people's privacy and refrain from repeating anybody else's experiences without their permission. The ideal is: What's Said in Kink Discussion Stays in Kink Discussion.

If you have a question please ask it! There are no dumb questions-we learn by asking. We ALL had to learn what we know about Kink/BDSM and are happy to pass it along.

After the discussion concludes, we take a few minutes for other Club-X and San Diego Kink/BDSM event announcements. You can join Club-X, renew your membership, purchase event tickets or ask questions. We are usually headed to the parking lot by 9:15pm although you're welcome to linger and schmooze a bit.

The Kink/BDSM discussion group was started to fill a need that had existed in San Diego for some time, originally called Rick's Rap, and has been a vibrant fixture in the San Diego Kink/BDSM scene for over thirty years. 'Rap' arose in the 1960’s as a slang term for talking.

If you’re shy, uncertain or the least bit hesitant, you should know that we all had the same feelings at some point. For us, there were wonderful, friendly folks that welcomed us into their community. Now it's our turn to welcome you.

COVID-19
While COVID-19 continues to circulate globally, currently there is significantly less risk of severe illness, hospitalization and death compared to earlier in the pandemic. Club X encourages its members and guests to be vaccinated if possible to Covid-19 and to be current on their booster shots as applicable, to protect themselves against serious illness, hospitalization, and death. Club X encourages members to consider wearing high-quality masks if they are at elevated risk, as a courtesy to others, and as a matter of personal responsibility, we request anyone who has been knowingly exposed to Covid-19 wear a high quality mask for 10 days and get tested on day 5 as recommended by the current CDC guidelines. Do not attend Club X in-person events if you know or suspect you are Covid positive, or otherwise ill, and isolate in accordance with CDC guidelines. Club X reserves the right to require masking at an event if requested by the presenter. We will designate such events with “masks required” in the title. This policy is subject to change by the board as local, state and national conditions warrant it.
