About this workshop:
Join us for an interactive class and conversation exploring consent and boundaries in Kink and our everyday lives- touching on consent in BDSM, kink dynamics, and shared spaces, and explore how clear boundaries help create safer, more intentional connections.
We’ll dive into the fundamentals and ethics of consent as they relate to BDSM play, kinky relationships, power dynamics, and community etiquette. Together, we’ll explore a practical framework for honoring your own boundaries while respecting the vulnerability of those you choose to interact with.
Come ready to learn, reflect, and join a thoughtful presentation and facilitator-guided conversation about what it means to honor yourself and others. Bring your experiences and the questions to help deepen our collective understanding.
Presenter Bio:
PurpleSockMonkey- better know as Lulu- embraces life as a submissive little and enthusiastic masochist. As the current President Club X, she brings warmth, service oriented leadership, and a whole lot of sock-monkey energy to the community. Since joining the scene in 2012, she’s joyfully leaned into her little side, growing through discovery and inevitable missteps. Her journey has taught her the power of consent: how to protect her own boundaries, honor the boundaries of others, and build trust through both. You can often find her hosting her monthly event, the Sock Monkey Social (every 3rd Sunday), or bouncing around many other Club X gatherings.
Identification:
Attendees must present valid, physical government-issued identification for entry. The identification must include the attendee's legal first and last name as well as birthdate. (Must be 18 or older)
Accessibility:
- Accessibility: Narrow entry hall; one stair-step separates the main space from the kitchen and restrooms; venue now has a portable ramp that can be deployed on request. Steps lead to patio and fire pit. Venue itself is on a hill.
- Restrooms: Two ADA compliant single restrooms with grab bars.
- Lighting: Fluorescent, controlled by dimmers; colorful party lights aimed at ceiling in main room.
- Smoking: Permitted on patio.
- Parking: Small parking lot with one disabled space; the incline of the hill can make it difficult to keep car doors open; additional parking available on hill.
- Transit access: Limited access by one direct bus route that runs until approx. 9:45pm weeknights and approx. 8:30pm Saturdays; limited access by a bus stop 1/2 mile away (one way only) and a trolley station just over 1 mile away; check routes upon receiving address in will-call email.
Health & COVID Policy
Club X supports safety and responsibility to one's self as well as to others in the kink community in all things, including issues related to health and infectious diseases. For personal protection and for the well-being of those around them, Club X encourages its members and guests to be vaccinated according to CDC guidelines against communicable diseases. Club X supports anyone’s choice to wear masks.
If you are ill with any infection that can be spread through casual contact, please do not attend Club X in-person events. Regardless of symptom severity, if you know or suspect you are Covid positive or are otherwise ill, isolate in accordance with CDC guidelines. As a courtesy to others, and as a matter of personal responsibility, if you have been knowingly exposed to Covid-19, we request that you wear a high-quality mask, as recommended by the current CDC guidelines.
Club X reserves the right to require masking at an event if requested by the presenter. We will designate such events with “masks required” in the title.
