About this event

About this event

21+.  Enjoy great conversations with friends, both new and old. You'll meet a great crowd of people from across the San Diego community.

The Cocktail Mixer will be inside The Merrow, not on the patio.

The Club X Cocktail Mixer has been around for several years and continues to be a great place to meet people, fill up your dance cards, or just unwind with a soft/hard drink and good company! Parking can be limited as the venue is located at the border of Hillcrest and North Park, but is easily reachable through Public Transportation and makes for a great opportunity to Carpool! We are told you can park at the DMV on Normal Street a block and a half away.

If you are planning on enjoying an alcoholic beverage, please have a plan that does not including driving yourself, or others. Club X strongly advocates Safe, Sane, and Consensual even beyond our kink!

Also Note: There is no cover charge to attend the Cocktail Social, however at 10pm another leather event Locker Room is taking over the space and while everyone is welcome to stay and support that event it does have a $10 cover charge.

Accessibility:
As of July 2022, there is a permanent ramp from the entry walkway to the patio - yay! Patio has new permanent bar-height counters. Patio also has standard height tables and chairs out most nights, but not for all events due to high attendance (e.g. Club Sabbat). The walkway, pool table / performance room, coat check, and restrooms are wheelchair accessible to guests. The bar is standard bar height. Indoor tables are all bar height. The front door is wide and requires a pull from the outside or push from the inside to open.

  • Restrooms: Three ADA compliant restrooms, two gendered and one neutral. The women's restroom, located next to the stage, gets blocked off to customers during most events.
  • Lighting: Outside, sunlight by day, fluorescent by night. Inside, dim fluorescent lighting, and black light in the pool room.
  • Smoking: Permitted on patio.
  • Parking: Metered street parking. Some parking available at the Normal Street DMV after 6pm.
  • Transit access: Served by bus routes 1 and 11 at University and Richmond 1/3 block away, route 10 at University and Vermont Street 1/2 block away; northbound bus route 120 at 10th and University 1.5 blocks away; buses 7 and 215 at Park and University 1/2 a mile away.
  • Other: The Merrow hosts multiple events, sometimes on the same night. Be sure to check their website to find out what's going on. Other events in this popular neighborhood may impact parking, sidewalk accessibility, and bus access.

COVID-19

While COVID-19 continues to circulate globally, currently there is significantly less risk of severe illness, hospitalization and death compared to earlier in the pandemic. Club X encourages its members and guests to be vaccinated if possible to Covid-19 and to be current on their booster shots as applicable, to protect themselves against serious illness, hospitalization, and death. Club X encourages members to consider wearing high-quality masks if they are at elevated risk, as a courtesy to others, and as a matter of personal responsibility, we request anyone who has been knowingly exposed to Covid-19 wear a high quality mask for 10 days and get tested on day 5 as recommended by the current CDC guidelines. Do not attend Club X in-person events if you know or suspect you are Covid positive, or otherwise ill, and isolate in accordance with CDC guidelines. Club X reserves the right to require masking at an event if requested by the presenter. We will designate such events with “masks required” in the title. This policy is subject to change by the board as local, state and national conditions warrant it.
