About this event

DISCLAIMER: This class will involve breaking of the skin and the smell of burning skin/hair. Though blood is very unlikely and unintended, it’s always possible it could happen.

The art of cell popping (AKA micro branding), is a precise and controlled method of body modification that the BDSM community has adopted from various cultures around the world. It involves applying various types of heat and metal to create small - medium scale designs on the skin, similar to a tattoo. Not for the faint of heart, but with a bit of skill and practice, it’s a surprisingly accessible form of play. This type of play lends itself well to many forms of intimate connection including S/M, power dynamics, fear, and spiritual play. It combines art with an emphasis on consensual practice, risk awareness, and creating a bridge between body and sensation.

In this workshop, attendees will learn the fundamentals of safety, technique, and aftercare involved in doing these kinds of brands. We will also give you ways to practice before getting to the real thing and will attempt to get in some participant interaction provided there is time.

In this workshop, attendees will learn the fundamentals of safety, technique, and aftercare involved in doing these kinds of brands. They will also get a how-to for practice at home before trying out a cell-popping scene with a partner, and hopefully, have the chance for a practice lab towards the end.
